Grace Loves Lace – the creators of ‘The World’s Most Pinned Wedding Dress’ – have finally launched their highly anticipated 2020/21 collection and it’s being touted as their most divine yet.

The ‘Elysian’ campaign, inspired by Founder and Creative Director, Megan Ziems’ passion for music, poetry and nature, features 11 new gowns alongside an exclusive range of apparel and accessories.

Martini is a refined, modern design, made from buttery soft, stretch crepe that sculpts and supports the body. She embodies luxury you can dance in, full of passion and confidence. Featuring a stylish scoop neckline, daring low back and column shape fit. The detachable back bow is made of double layer silk, adding a dramatic statement on the train. Martini is for the woman who commands the room.

Elysian, meaning beautiful and creative, peaceful and perfect, divinely inspired; is an exploration of stillness and the most innocent form of creativity; imagination.

The new collection features buttery soft, stretch crepe, intricately layered Italian tulle, new laces and trims and expert handcraftsmanship. The gowns of Elysian have all been designed in-house by Megan and Head Designer, Rosie Keating. The entire collection will be made to order by the brand’s skilled production and manufacturing team based on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Introducing the Frenchie – perfect for the woman who dares to be different. Featuring three-quarter length, trumpet-style sleeves and a subtle pearl trim around the waist; creatively designed for the woman who exudes artistic charisma. Full of personality, Frenchie is a chic, unique gown with a low-V back and silk bow that adds a dramatic statement. Carefully designed to provide exceptional bust support, she is the gown that women want to wear for a stylish and unexpected look. Frenchie is every bit charming and soulful – for the woman who sets her own trends.

“The level of detail in these gowns is really special and elevated. We’ve included very high-end detailing and we’ve focused heavily on handcraftsmanship – every gown has its own considered details like silk cover buttons or hand-cut lace applique. The detail is even down to the smaller things like our 3D lace motifs, all of these have been meticulously hand-cut and hand-placed onto each gown.” Ziems said.

Keating worked closely alongside Ziems and the development team, crafting exciting fabric combinations, including stretch crepe and abstract lace.

Introducing the Filamena — for the woman who is elegantly poetic in her every movement. Featuring a contoured bodice and underwire cup, with a fitted to flowing skirt designed to highlight your favourite features; Filamena is simply unforgettable. The delicate tulle compliments the Chantilly lace, separated by pearl beading along the cup and under bust of the bodice. Elevated with a removable bolero top, transitioning the gown from ceremony to reception. Filamena is brilliantly designed, celebrating natural beauty. Filamena is a flattering, meticulously crafted gown for effortless beauties.

“Rosie and I work very closely with our talented development team. We are extremely creative and experimental in our fit process; we are always testing finishes and details. We edit, and edit, and edit, for months on end. So, the collection goes from about 50 gowns to 11 gowns over a 12-month period,” said Ziems.

From billowy skirts layered with soft Italian tulle, to the incredibly supportive crepe gowns that took Ziems years to source the perfect fabric for; the duo’s aim was to give women the world over a highly diverse offering.

Eve is perfect for the elegant woman who wants a twist on tradition. Created to hero our signature rose lace, the Eve has been designed with a double lining of tulle meticulously positioned to create a dreamy, voluminous skirt that becomes mesmerizing as it moves. She radiates charisma and honours time with her flattering sweetheart neckline, magnificent lace overlay, and classic, scalloped high neck. Eve has a subtle, gathered sleeve that is perfectly fitted to elongate the arm paired with a keyhole back that beautifully balances her. She is every bit charming and effortless; Eve is for the woman who holds her own.

“Finding the perfect crepe was a project of its own. We studied everything; weight, finish, stretch and colour tone all while ensuring it had to be high-quality, flattering and comfortable. We wanted it to be that incredibly buttery, milky, supple crepe, while also being thick, supportive and mouldable,” Ziems said.

The gowns of Elysian also inspired the development of an exclusive collection of chic, new accessories, purposefully designed for the brides of today.

Simply slip into River and you will feel effortlessly stylish and confident. With a column shape and fitted silhouette — she encapsulates the perfect balance of minimalism and finesse. With a plunging, panelled bust and daring low-back, she is the ultimate less-is-more gown. Thoughtfully added details like silk cover buttons elevate this gown and draw the eye to the magnificent train. Featuring an abstract pattern with a dimensional contrast of matte and pearlescent thread, when you slip into River you will shimmer in the light. River is for the woman who radiates freshness and down-to-earth sophistication.

“We set out to give bridal accessories their moment in the sun. It’s usually all about the dress – and rightly so! But we are always looking to give brides the opportunity to style their wedding gowns to ultimately reflect who they are. These designs are comfortable, purposeful and ultra-chic. Total statement pieces!” said Ziems.

The addition of bridal hats, bags and backpacks are designs that the bridal world hasn’t seen modernised in quite some time.

Introducing Estelle — featuring a decadent, dramatic skirt and clean, simple lines, she is a polished design that is refined and effortless. Made with our buttery soft, stretch crepe; this gown is for the woman who exudes confidence and beauty. With an incredibly supportive bust and interchangeable silk and pearl trim straps, you’ll be able to dance the entire night away in confidence. Available in 40 bust sizes, Estelle is for every body. Make a statement with our wide-brimmed Helena Hat and dainty, Martini handbag. Estelle is for the stylish woman who wants to look chic and timeless.

“We absolutely love the hat concept. Bridal hats were a thing many, many decades ago, but no one has modernised them!” Ziems said.

When it came to crafting bags and backpacks, function was at the forefront of Ziems’ thinking.

“I remember back on my wedding day – almost 10 years ago – I didn’t have a bag that I could put my lippy, perfume or phone in. The Bridal Backpack is a cool, chic solution for brides,” said Ziems.

When it came to the campaign itself, Ziems was set on creating a personal and authentic piece shot at home. From models, through to working with renowned fashion photographer, Pierre Toussaint, every element of this campaign was highly considered.

The Willow gown is for the carefree and stylish bride. Made with our buttery soft, stretch crepe, this fitted and relaxed design gracefully skims the body to highlight your favourite features. Designed with clean, contemporary lines, Willow is an undone and relaxed statement. With a scooping front and plunging low back, she is a luxurious gown you can dance the night away in. Featuring a sky-high split, revealing just the right amount of skin to fuse elegance with sexiness. Willow is the ultimate second dress, why have one when you can have two.

The stunning campaign was shot at Ziems’ very own farmhouse property – peacefully nestled in Currumbin Valley in the Gold Coast hinterland – a place completely unique to the brand. The gorgeous estate is surrounded by lush, green native Australian flora.

Ziems creatively launched the Elysian campaign with a ballet film titled ‘Prelude’, an artistic piece that reiterates the brand’s core value; “luxury you can dance in.”

Lena is for the woman who wants impeccable simplicity; a gown that is both breathtaking and timeless. This gown features a stunning combination of our distinctive fishtail silhouette and our flattering stretch crepe created to mould and support the body. Lena combines a plunging neckline and a sculptural, fitted frame. Lena’s delicate, Italian tulle panels with hand-cut lace motifs have been curated in their placement over the gown, to highlight and accentuate natural contours of the body. On the bodice, you can choose between a soft ivory tulle, or subtle nude tulle to contrast the delicate lace applique. Lena will support your body, shaping your fondest features.

“Prelude was a creative release for me to express the vision and inspiration I had during lockdown. It allowed me to focus purely on the art of music and dance — two of my biggest sources of inspiration,” said Ziems.

The collection marks ten years since Ziems started Grace Loves Lace, after a frustrating search for a dress for her own wedding. The Queensland-based entrepreneur set out to revolutionise how wedding dresses were designed and sold, liberating women from the traditional bridal shopping experience through an innovative e-commerce model. The company has now expanded to 11 showrooms globally, a booming e-commerce shopfront, and the bridal giant is showing shows no signs of slowing down.

The Monet is a lavishly artistic design created for the romantic. She has been carefully handcrafted with a skin-tight bodice, fitted long sleeve and full circle skirt that gracefully moves with you. Thoughtfully detailed with intricately placed, embroidered motifs and a nude tone lining to bring our iconic, Chantilly lace to life. Monet is a romantic and feminine gown that will take your breath away. Floating down the aisle with a divine, low-V back, secure bodice and built-in cups, you’ll feel every bit supported by this special gown. She will transform you into an exquisite work of art.

“We have always designed for The Woman – not the ‘bride’. Our customer really values authenticity and innovation. Elysian, I feel, perfectly shows how we break down the bounds of tradition,” said Ziems.

The gowns – which range from $1,700 to $3,450 USD – are now available to order on the Grace Loves Lace website and at the brand’s eleven international showrooms.

A combination of an iconic silhouette and modern lace combinations, the Noah is feminine and soulful. Highlighting our unique combination of signature lace and trims, she is the epitome of modern craftsmanship. With built-in cups and an exquisite fit, she offers complete support and functionality. Featuring abstract lace, Chantilly stretch lace and a flattering lower back support hidden with hand-cut lace panelling, Noah is a thoughtfully detailed design and beautifully balanced with off-the-shoulder, lace armbands. A charming and elegant gown, for the woman that is wildly romantic.

Grace Loves Lace’s Elysian campaign was captured on the sacred grounds of the Yugambeh people of the Bundjalung Nation – the Traditional Owners of the land. Grace Loves Lace pay their respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Grace Loves Lace entered the market in 2010 with innovative, high-quality Australian made designs at an affordable price point. This
disrupted the traditional wedding uniform. Since then, the brand has continued to dominate the global bridal offering with unique gowns
made in exclusive European laces. Designed with comfort and functionality front of mind, the styles are free from structure, boning or rigid
elements and made in easy, stretch fits.
