Planning 6-3 Months Before Your Wedding
Plan Your Honeymoon
This goes beyond deciding where you and your partner want to go! Plan a honeymoon that is adventurous or laid-back depending on preferences. Book tickets and accommodation in advance to get the best rates. If traveling abroad, have all paperwork in order and be up-to-date on shots. Make necessary purchases for your honeymoon.
Hire Key Vendors
These include photographers, florists, an MC, and a DJ or band! Check out previous works by photographers and florists, and be sure to communicate your preferences and wishes clearly. Finalize what songs you want to be played during different stages of the wedding and during the reception. Book transportation for your wedding party and guests too!
Book Caterers and Bar Service
Zero in on a caterer for your wedding day; some caterers might offer tastings, or you could ask to be served some items. Discuss the menu at length and opt for a buffet or full service dinner according to your budget. Choose bar options wisely as it’s easy to go overboard; you might want to consider buying your own liquor in bulk from a local brewery.
Order the Wedding Cake
Go for cake tastings if you have trouble finalizing the flavor or baker! Let the baker know what type of wedding you’re having, the wedding theme and if you’d like them to include something in the design to represent your relationship with your partner.
Send Out Save the Dates
Design save the dates to match your wedding theme. Send them earlier if you’re having a destination wedding; for a local affair, send them up to 3 months before the wedding. Don’t forget to notify out-of-town guests well in advance.
Book Accommodation for Guests
Speaking of out-of-town guests, book accommodation near your wedding venue. Share price points with your guests and reserve rooms in advance to get the best rates.
…Stay Tuned for Part 3!
